Dr. Combs was born (a Navy "brat") in California and has been in New Mexico since age 9. She received double majors (Cum Laude) from New Mexico State University in 1984, and her medical degree from the University of New Mexico in 1988. She completed her Ob/Gyn residency at the University of New Mexico in 1992, where she served as a member of the faculty for five years. Prior to departing UNM, Dr. Combs was chief of service at the Kirtland Air Force Base Ob/Gyn Department.

Dr. Combs is a diplomat of the American Board of Ob/Gyn and a fellow of the American College of Ob/Gyn. She has special expertise in surgery and particularly enjoys laparoscopic and vaginal surgery.

Dr. Combs is married to Mike Harris, and they have two (soon to be three) sons. When not working, she enjoys riding her horses, swimming, and hiking in the mountains with her dogs.
